If you’ve jumped on the BlackBerry bandwagon you might’ve heard that the latest buzz in the “BBM” community is over the new “CrackBerry,” BlackBerry “Gemini” 9300 , aka a 3G BlackBerry Curve.

Forums and several BB fansites have shared their anticipation over its release. www.blackberrycool.com has quashed the “Gemini” as a codename for the BlackBerry 8325. So, basically, you’re keeping your eyes peeled for a 3G BlackBerry Curve.

It’s supposedly the newest addition (and replacement or addition to? the Curve family) developed by Research in Motion (RIM).

No word yet on its availability, but BoyGenius has guestimmated a “Q4 ‘09/Q1′ 10″ release date.

So, what’s the fuss all about?

Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA

A more powerful CPU

Redesigned keyboard

Rounded buttons

Rounded Send/End keys instead of flat on the sides

Silver casing

A larger, higher resolution screen than the 8900

(Speculated, but most-likely) WiFi and GPS capabilities

A 3.2 + mega-pixel camera

And (finally) quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE

Looks like a classic case of supply and demand…and a competitive free market.
Telus and Bell have upped their competitive strategies (and their networks).
The iPhone (and apparently BlackBerry?) will soon be available for Bell and Telus users. Try next month. Time for Rogers to up their game…
