Located at the heart of Granville Street in Circa Restaurant Lounge, there was a lot of hustle and bustle from both lounge staff and BCFW promoters alike to pull off another one of the Fashion Week’s head lining designers Red Jade. The preshow set up set the tone for what the rest of the night was to look like, with the lounge filling up with the Lower Mainland and Canada’s VIP’s of Fashion (ie. Stacey McKenzie, who I tried ever so hard to not flail my arms like a pre-pubescent Justin Beiber fan yelling “OMG OMG” in front of…anyways, I digress). With media and other guests arriving early to settle in, the venue finally opened their doors to the public, and not before long, Circa was packed with Fashion Fiends ready to bask in Red Jades’s glory.
With an unconventional twist and turn runway, guests were able to catch a long glimpse of the collection, which flousrished in an array of classy and neutral whites, greys and caramels, while still creating the element of surprise with pieces that beamed in yellows and golds.
The collection also provided a harmonic balance of next year’s spring trends by show casing feminine and flowy skirts and frocks, while still keeping it tough, by adding a few structured, highwaisted skirts and slacks to the mix. The night ended off with a final walk on the runway by both models and Red Jade designer Margarita Angelatos and her little tyke donning a mini-me version of one of the Spring Collection frocks, a great ending to another successful show for this year’s BCFW.
