3 pm on a Sunday afternoon and hundreds of skateboarders bombing down the Georgia viaduct seems like the fitting image for Emerica’s, Wild in the Streets tour.  We finally caught up with the Emerica Team and the vancouver skateboard community on the way to their last destination at Strathcona Park.

They literally took over the city this weekend, through streets, sidewalks and busy traffic. Saturday, skaters competed at Leeside skatepark for the chance to win straight cash. The event was held at Leeside in honour of the late Lee Matasi, founder of the park, who was shot and murdered in the winter of 2005.





The city-wide takeover finished up Sunday evening at Strathcona with a massive dude-saturated crowd, with hot dogs and Red Bull free (or by donation) for everyone who came down.
