Gung Hay Fat Choy Happy Chinese New Year!
Chinese New Year is on Monday January 23rd! How will you be celebrating?
The City of Richmond has a multitude of events! Here’s a couple I think are worth visiting:
January 9 – 22
Flower Market @ Yaohan Centre. Featuring a gorgeous floral display!
1100AM – 700PM www.yaohancentre.com
January 18 – 29
Chinese New Year celebration & bazaar @ International Buddhist Temple (9160 Steveston Hwy).
Have you ever been to a Buddhist Temple? It’s stunning! Check out the flower arrangements, traditional snacks and food and gifts. Remember to be respectful, it’s open to the public but it still is a temple.
Open 10AM – 5PM www.buddhisttemple.ca
January 19 – 23
Chinese New Year Flower & Gift Fair @ Aberdeen Centre.
Over 40 booths and vendors with all kinds of goodies. Kind of like an indoor Night Market.

January 19 – February 6
Chinese New Year in the Library – Photo Exhibit @ The Brighouse Main Library.
This photo exhibit focuses on how people from different regions of China celebrate the Lunar New Year. Interesting!

Most of these places are pretty close to the Canada Line, and totally worth the trip.
Oo and I always love a good DIY, so here are a couple gift ideas for your coworkers or your Chinese New Year potluck!
