As a young local C.E.O of B-Sharp Productions, creative director, lyricist and performer, you might think this kid’s already built his empire. But as he continues to shine right through his darkened days, it’s no joke that he’s just getting started.Born and raised in New Westminster, Matt Brevner was introduced to rap at ten years old and flat-out fell in love with music and the cultures of hip-hop ever since. We met up with the young talent the night of his opening act for Juelz Santana and caught some time to really get to know the persona behind the words and how his well rounded knowledge of business and music has allowed him to open many open doors in the music industry.Straight out of street life, Brevner quickly turned things around after the unfortunate loss of his grandfather.”I promised him I would make him proud”, he remembers. While caring of his grandmother, he invested in his own music equipment and built his life from the ground up continuing his love for poetry while learning production and sound design.Staying close to what he only knows, Brevner’s perceptive wit on his own life gives him the edge of reason to his own creations.
