Morning of Thursday, Nov 12 was havoc on south Main Street at Broadway. Our city suffers the loss of some great eclectic, local businesses:Zocalo (cozy, contemporary Mexican), Slickity Jim’s “Chat and Chew” (local breakfast, homemade eats), Kishu Island Sushi (inexpensive Japanese, memorable selection), Lugz Cafe (cinnamon rolls, coffees, chais…a Main St. coffee lounge), and a local accounting firm.

At approxiamately 4am a fire blazed its way through the collection of businesses. Our love and condolences to the owners. Each of you has contributed to the neighbourhood, and your residency will be definitely missed and definitely not forgotten!

Thankfully, no one was hurt or injured. Appreciation to the Vancouver firemen who fought the blaze for twelve hours.
